Silver Cloud Manufacturing, leaders in manufacturing custom filters for flat panel displays, has added a KOMO VR 1205 Mach II S Series router to meet customer demand for filters to match the growing size of LCD displays. This CNC Machining Center has been customized for Silver Cloud’s specific type of plastic fabrication and can produce filters as large as 144”. Capable of 24,000 RPM with a 12-station automatic tool changer that saves time by eliminating manual tool changes, the VR 1205 Mach II provides faster throughput while giving .0004” unidirectional tolerance. The new equipment is expected to increase throughput and provide faster turnaround time for delivery.
The VR1205 Mach II includes a retractable pin locating system and two standard 72” x 60” tables that eliminate down time while loading and unloading. They can also form a full 144” x 60” work surface for larger parts when necessary. The vacuum-hold-down system makes for very rapid cycle times and a feed rate of up to 3150 IPM (inches per minute). The router can be outfitted with custom tooling.
